- Authorities have charged five individuals for Matthew Perry's death, including two doctors and Perry's personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.
- Perry, 54, died of acute ketamine overdose in October 2023 at his Los Angeles home.
- Charged individuals are Iwamasa, Salvador Plascencia, Mark Chavez, Jasveen Sangha and Erik Fleming.
- The charges were revealed during a press conference on Thursday, with U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada saying: "These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves."
- Iwamasa allegedly administered numerous shots to Perry in the final five days of his life to treat his depression, including three that prosecutors say resulted in his death.
- Doctors Plascencia and Chavez allegedly falsified medical records to legitimize their actions.
- In text messages to Chavez apparently discussing the price of the ketamine for Perry, Plasencia allegedly wrote: "I wonder how much this moron will pay."
- 'Ketamine Queen' Sangha played a key role in distributing the drug, while Fleming is an alleged street dealer in the case, the prosecutors said.
